There’s no question that the Inner West has its share of excellent pubs. Come summer, so many million beers will be poured down throats at these various bars and balconies. What is harder to find west of the city is a place for a good, crisp rosé.**More often than not, pubs provide only a list of serviceable but boring standards. This is where Sass comes in. The cosy vinoteca-come-cocktail-lounge offers a clever selection of Australian and international wines, all deliberately sourced to be as affordable as they are enjoyable. Its location on Erskineville’s main drag means it isn’t too consciously hip, nor too languidly slow, but like a good wine should be: relaxed and comfortable.
