Time To Vino

We lauded Time To Vino some time back when it opened as a clever little front runner of the small bars wave. No longer is it small. No sirree. Time To Vino moved up the hill into the old Penny’s Lane site, and it is now a big boy, but retains the things that made it appeal back when it was little.

The wine list remains cleverly chosen, and is probably best navigated by the savvy staff. The menu retains its slightly cutesy section titles, and can be approached as a share menu or by courses. Where previously Time To Vino seemed to work best when share plates accompanied bottles, the new digs just as easily accommodate a more traditional Sit Down Meal. This doesn’t mean it’s lost the casual feel – the varied-use space is still sprightly and buzzy.

This is a maturation more than a change. It’s an ambitious effort, applying a small bar success-story into a full-blown restaurant space. But the attitude and expertise behind the operation means it should come as little surprise as they manage it.
