The only sucky thing about being an eco warrior in 2011 is the undeniable feeling in the pit of your stomach that your actions are probably futile. Admittedly, it’s really hard to actually make anything significant change as one human being but at least somebody is giving it a shot.

Putting the divine back into D.I.Y is Brisbane based clothes maker/re-maker/gaia appreciator Estelita Huijer. Her one off, handmade jackets and capes are too hot to handle (literally, you might have to put these away for Winter ‘12). The pieces feature bold injections of faux fur and leather, which are both on the eco hit list right now, not to mention a game-changing fash designer’s runway. They’re also made on home turf and available on request!

Styles range from bold polar bear-esque puffer-furs to Last Supper boleros giving off Prada Fall 2012 vibes. Basically, there’s something in there for everyone. If this makes the coins in your pocket rattle, send all requests/fan mail directly to Estelita Huijer. Take that you evil, corporate, dolphin killing middle-man!
