Isson designer Catherine Federici is of the opinion that shoes, jewellery, perfume and sunglasses are all in the same boat. I imagine this boat to be a cruise liner that’s setting sail for New York c.1930, only those Lonely Island guys are the entertainers, the food is contemporary Scandinavian, and there are no orange fake tans and greasy dudes.

Federici doesn’t let her passion get lost in the fold. She’s worked in fashion, in a tattoo shop, optometrists, and grew up a self confessed tomboy. Macaulay ‘My Girl’ Culkin would have fallen in love with her. Damn, so would have I. Bringing this background to the design table, she creates understated modern frames with the kind of class and quality your grandmother knew.

The 09/10 Isson collection is all about states of mind. They’re like the Dom Perignon of beer goggles. They come in vintage colours  musk, amber, and bakelite black to name a few and the frames curve in angles that only Fred Astaire could pull.
