With wardrobes from Sydney to San Fran cluttered with Target designer ‘one offs’, and/or lines from actors playing their fashion card, it’s hard to recommend a ‘slashie’ to any hardboiled fashion face.
However, one variant of this genre is the stylist/designer, which has successfully produced the likes of Alice McCall, Vera Wang and the latest – Kym Ellery.**Ellery, a stylist and market editor for RUSSH, incorporates the magazine’s laidback princess (with Ellery punch) into her debut collection ROBOCROBATICS. The designs recall a stampeeding Snow White, with billowing sleeves, slick minis, and a one particular shift that will take the prize for Summer’s most coveted – think floating, monochrome and rope detailing.
Note: Ellery’s first collection was previewed April 07 at China Heights Gallery. She then went on to show at Roselyn Oxley 9 Gallery (before the Bill fight) and most recently, The National Art Gallery. One to watch? Phwor! Yes.
