After swearing me to secrecy, my aunt recently told me that she thinks a woman from her neighbourhood macramé circle is a lesbian. While it was some very exciting gossip for my aunt, what I was more interested in was the idea of macramé. Without it, we could not hang our birds and plants, string up a hammock or have poodles to keep our tea warm.
A little research turned out a number of free online macramé patterns. A bit of cord from Spotlight and I was on my way. My first attempt was the adventurous ‘Designer Hanger‘. Some may think covered hangers are a little nanna, but the word ‘designer’ led me to believe otherwise. Similar to knitting, macramé can be done in front of the television, on the train or with your special lady friends.
