Aliens and people from the past must think we all look INSANE in sunglasses. Think about it. Bits of plastic strapped to your head? For no good reason? (Ohhhh, snap). They are either so large they make your head look like a baby pea or they bling harder than a Ludacris concert. Either way they’re weird and I need them on my face at all times.
The specs from Sydney-based Sunday Somewhere (the name references this Sonic Youth song) could be just what my mug is crying out for. Designed by a guy from AM eyewear and another guy from COLAB, in the sunglass spectrum they probably fall somewhere healthy between pea-making and blinging: there’s pulp-journo lookers, Amelia Earheart aviator goggles, nerdy tortoiseshells and future squaries. The focus is on simple lines, enduring design and a complete lack of catch-phrases. Sunglasses won’t change your life, dummies! But they will make martians LOL. Win!
