Audio Books call to mind a delightful, soft-hued daytime drama in which a young girl (let’s call her ‘Andrea’) loses sight in freak mining accident. (This is obviously set in mid-west America where children do such things, duh.) After many tears spilled by frowsy parents, plus a mild-psychotic incident where ‘Andrea’ stabs out all the eyes of her baby dolls with a blunt pencil, a new day dawns. ‘Andrea’ stops hating on all the normal people out there who can see and makes peace with her new life – via the portal to imaginary worlds offered by Audio Books.**Certainly, that’s a movie I’d like to watch, lapping up the irony as I do. Barring that, I could listen to the charming aural translation narrated by Joe Lando (the heartthrob from DR QUINN MEDICINE WOMAN).
In the meantime, many fine books are available on Compact Disc for your listening pleasure. Just lie back and think of ‘Andrea’.
