Cookin’ Hot Buttered Soul – An Isaac Hayes Tribute
published on 22nd September, 2008

Oh just because he kicked the bucket you thought you were free from the ass kicking you deserved from that bad muthafu-SHUT YO’ MOUTH! Look, I was just talking about the man behind the legend, Isaac Hayes. Not only did he wear more bling than most rappers today could even imagine, he also played a bounty hunter preying on a man named Gator, and a cartoon elementary school chef who sung about balls. Plus he made music that is probably responsible for heaps of babies all throughout the late ‘60s and ‘70s.

This is where Cookin’ Soul comes in, well, minus babies. With Isaac Hayes barely into the ground, these Spanish rap producers locked themselves up and whipped out 15 cuts inspired by, and in tribute to, the Oscar winning badass. The best thing about it? It’s free on their website, along with other remixes they’ve done (I suggest NY STATE OF MIND). The worst thing? You have to listen to them cutting in ‘C-C-C-C-Cookin’ Soul’ at least 30 times a track and the OJaysis mashup comes up on their MySpace player automatically. It’s worth it though, pinky promise.
