Fear and Might, Leah Fraser
published on 6th April, 2009

From the dense foliage Leah Fraser’s forest creatures emerge. Peering out with eyes at once wistful, knowing and vulnerable; they invite us to join their secretive, lonely world.

Leah’s first solo show marked the opening of Black & Blue Gallery in 2007. This time around, the Sydney artist has moved beyond 2D imagery on the gallery walls and introduced an immersive space, with her large-scale watercolours sitting alongside a kinetic installation of 100 clay birds suspended in flight.**FEAR AND MIGHT also sees each artwork accompanied by an original short poem, offering a narrative dimension to the imagery and giving further insight into the workings of this emerging artist’s creative process.
