Shoot The Player Installation
published on 6th January, 2010

It’s possible to lose hours of your day through the Shoot The Player blog. The one-take format means that you’re not just watching dashing young musicians from home and abroad performing in unexpected locations around Sydney, you’re also witnessing the chuckles, stuff-ups and moments of spontaneous genius that spring from unrehearsed, uncut filming.

Amelia Tovey and Jonathan Wald, the brains behind the project, have now decided it’s time to extend from web world to the real world, and have just finished putting together their first installation, to be housed in the CarriageWorks Foyer.

**There you can explore Sydney and music on an enormous screen, or keep it personal at a private listening pod. See Bob Evans at Bourke St Bakery, Amanda Palmer in her pyjamas, Kaki King at the War Memorial, Sarah Blasko in a tattoo parlour, and lots more. Plus, there’ll be screenings from similar projects like Vincent Moon’s Take Away Shows, to provide an international perspective on the one-take DIY music video movement. Launch night includes performances by Holly Throsby and Washington.
