Bon Iver

When you read that a musician has "spent three winter months alone in a remote Wisconsin cabin" recording his album, the wanker alarm goes off…loud. Then you listen to FOR EMMA, FOREVER AGO and realise that for Bon Iver, isolation is conducive to slow-strummed, melodic genius. Listening to the album is like being wrapped in cashmere by a crackling fire, while outside soft snow dusts fur trees in the blistering cold.- NS
