Claire Suzy Stannard

For those of us who never got too frothing-at-the-mouth crazy about math class, here’s an example of geometry that should’ve been taught in school. It may just send your sensory pleasure receptors into overdrive. Like 1970′s sci-fi flicks, or the architecture of the former Soviet Block, even 1950s Modernism. Check, check, check. It’s all here, jumping out at you from the 2D and 3D creations of Sydney artist Claire Suzy Stannard. Stannard explores the ideals of balance and symmetry in modern design through wood/ recycled materials/ Perspex sculptures and wall-hangings. Hands up those who don’t want to skive off this lesson? – ST
