Although I’m quite partial to counting southern cross tattoos and yelling at wankers in shutter shades – most festivals in Sydney just don’t cut it these days. Flip Out’s gonna change things. They’ve sorted out a half-day festival promising snotty punk and beer. The line-up is 100% impressive, with no mediocre DJ spots between acts. They’ve booked Eddy Current, Pink Reason, Goodnight Loving, The UV Race, The Stabs, Slug Guts, Deaf Wish, Royal Headache and a couple of others. I wasn’t alive for the 100 Club, so I’m glad I’m around for this. – HM
