Outside Over There, Beci Orpin

Let’s talk subconscious for a minute. Specifically, dreams. The drifty kind, full of geometric cheesecake landscapes, birds, babushkas and pac-men with personalities. Dreams where the haunting surrealism is at once comforting and sincere. You know the kind? Well, Beci Orpin makes them real. The Melburnian’s deliciously folkloric, dream like imagery – made famous by her fashion label Princess Tina and new kids’ line Tiny Mammoth – will make a suitably memorable appearance at an exhibition of new prints and paperworks, where fairytale narratives take surprising guises.
