Rabari – The Last of the Wandering Shepards

RABARI – THE LAST OF THE WANDERING SHEPHERDS documents Mitchell Kanashkevich’s encounters with a tribe of Nomadic cattle herders in his travels throughout western India. The photographs capture thousands of years of Rabari tradition, as evidenced by the people who realise their lifestyle will inevitably be lost to the forces of modernisation. Whilst we’d prefer to get the tale first-hand, Kanashkevich’s skillful photography and the close proximity of the gallery make this a worthy substitute. – JG
