Craig Dermody likes to paint chintzy op-shop style landscapes and stale pastoral backdrops. Now, when I say ‘paint’ I mean that he gets to indulge every child’s destructive fantasy by painting witches, monsters, giant octopi and various other cool shit right over the top of these otherwise lifeless renderings. Songs are for sad, paintings are for happy comprises a selection of works he produced as potential album covers for his band Scott and Charlene’s Wedding, who will also perform on opening night. This one is pure stoner reverie. – MW
