Okay, first of all, the future is not known. But the Russians were pretty convinced that it was, and that it was the past that was always changing. Trippers. This exhibition embraces the Russians’ theory as a way to remember a city and a state of mind through a collection of stories from artists, filmmakers and musicians. The past is mostly remembered in fragments because each person remembers their own past as a whole, and these wholes are really parts that make up a bigger whole. It’s enough to make your brain curl up into the foetal position and slide out your ears. Anyone with a memory of inner Sydney in the 80s is invited to submit work for one night of memory exchange/future knowledge.
