The Golden Age

Upon it’s release, THE GOLDEN AGE caused a bit of a fuss. Director, Luis Bunuel, had to present the film to the Board of Censors as ‘the dream of a madman’ so that he could get a permit to screen it. It’s a 1930s surrealist film, backed up by a tale of two lovers. The plot is loose and irrational, or in Bunuel’s words – a rape to the conscious. – HM
