The Ruby Suns

If you viewed world music through a psych-pop lense the end result would come out looking something like the Ruby Suns joyous layered pop. Largely inspired by their travels, the duo weave samples from Thailand, Africa, and their homeland of New Zealand, with reverb and synths, to create melodic pastiches of traditional rhythms and harmonies, psychadelia and pop. The result is exuberant music with a timeless, almost borderless quality. – JG
