If you had the chance to send a message into outer space, what would you say? Me, I’d probably make a stupid joke, then go "Wait, WAIT, can I go again? That was just a practice!", thus dooming us all to certain death at the hands of who or whatever is out there ("these humans are morons"). Thankfully, Australia’s first interstellar message was much better thought out. It was a funny and intimate monologue, performed and filmed at Next Wave in 2008. And now here’s your chance to witness it for yourself! There’ll be a screening, followed by a talk with it’s creator, Willoh S. Weiland. – AF
