Yuria Okamura deconstructs temples and tea houses. From Melbourne, she’s inspired by Shinto animism, Japanese folktales, and Zen gardens. Using dilute acrylic staining, embossment, and interference paints she creates gentle geometric abstractions, but they are grounded in nature, so there are birds.
