Yes, it might sound simple – some guy named Carl, writing about cars – but as stated on the cover this is really a magazine about people. Published quarterly since 2001 by Karl Eirik Haug and Stéphanie Dumont, CARL*S CARS blends car culture with music, fashion, film and design.
Similar to DAZED AND CONFUSED’S offshoot INTERSECTION, but with a better sense of humour and curiosity, CARL*S uses the automobile as a metaphor to speak about the idea of freedom and how it intersects with people’s creativity. Chauffeurs’ underwear, music for trivial situations and pictures of famous drivers’ licenses are just some of the features gracing its ample pages. Not to mention photos of naked people. And very, very nice cars.
