If you think you are going to understand Here and There magazine in the next 180-200 words, think again. Here and There appears rather than gets published. It is like a dropped diary on the street, highly personal in a way that deserves to be respected, but you don’t have to return it to the rightful owner. You can keep it.
Published in Japan by Nakako Hayashi and distributed through independent art book publisher Nieves, Here and There is written by a small network of artists, poets, filmmakers, photographers, designers and friends from around the world. Each issue works to a theme and Issue 09′s theme of ‘Her Life’ includes contributions from Miranda July, Les Cahiers Purple editor Elein Fleiss, artist Laetitia Benat and photographer Takashi Homma.**Where most magazines simply provide content, Here and There provides companionship and, for those who are prepared to take a chance to get to know it a little better, chances are it will become your best friend.
