The Monster Times
published on 12th May, 2009

We love the idea that kids = small, drunk adults.  Except that now we’ve read THE MONSTER TIMES, written by some incredible students from Crown Street Primary school, we think that the words ‘insightful’, ‘hilarious’, and possibly ‘superior’ should be added to the equation.

Witness just a few moments of genius, from the scary: "This is a seadog. It is a kind of house. It is a reptile. It has special features like scales and a tail with a scarf. It has to have extra water or it will die and the other will be born." – Antonia Mcheney, Year 2.**…To the helpful: "Harpies look like birds with the heads of ugly women…If you’re eating a delicious sausage roll and you see a harpy, you better RUN!" -  Pearl Smith, Year 5.

As the first of what will hopefully be two to three publications per year (the next one is rumoured to be about castles, palaces and fortresses, yesss!) we think this is a truly awesome enterprise.
