‘Mike Giant’. A name like that would pressure-cook anyone for success. Luckily, Mike is the shiz. The tattooed, globetrotting, zine-making, bike-riding man is constantly creating new work, whether it be pictures, words or a combination of the two.
His latest zine, THIS WAY/THAT WAY is a story of his time in Australia early 2008. His series of photographs and illustrations traipses through the streets of Sydney, then into an upside down adventure in Melbourne. He even understands the Sydney/Melbourne rivalry enough to give us each a front cover.**And to top it all off, Mike injects us with more street cred than we actually have via his surgeon-steady drawings of tattooed girls and sweet photography.
To put it quite simply: The man makes us look sexy.
