Utopia or Oblivion – The Prospects for Humanity
published on 1st June, 2009

Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was somewhat of a renaissance man. Inventor of the geodesic dome, cartographer, philosopher, architect, engineer and geometrican, Fuller was one of the greatest thinkers of his time. His principle goal was to design and theorise systems for the betterment of the world, by creating technology that does ‘more with less’.

Admittely a rather heavy title, this is an incredible book made up of Fuller’s essays and lectures that probably has more relevance now than it did when these ideas were germinating through the 60s.

Jam-packed with some incredibly grandiose and far-fetched thinking, this book is an endless trove of theories around a myriad of subjects to do with how we live on earth and how living systems can be improved by rethinking the way that the Earth is managed.

We’re all for anyone that compares Earth to a spaceship and its inhabitants to pilots.
