bams & ted Pop Up store
published on 25th May, 2010

When I was a little girl I used to spend hours rummaging through the wardrobes and jewellery drawers of my mum, aunties, sisters (basically whoever’s stuff I could) not because I was a kleptomaniac but because it was FUN. Well, that ‘bad’ habit that was snuffed out of me has now been reborn, thanks to bams & ted.

Theirs is a serious, dress-up box kind of pop-up store that selects a leading character from a film or novel, then creates a shop full of their belongings and possessions that you can rifle through to your heart’s content! So far they’ve popped-up ‘Miranda’ (Picnic at Hanging Rock) and ‘Francie’ (To Catch a Thief) and they’re about to pop-up the near androgynous ‘Sebastian’ (Brideshead Revisited). Time is of the essence as these stores don’t hang around for long. Drop in and walk away guilt free with your very own piece of Sebastian (in exchange for a lobster or two of course).
