When bills, groceries and those Tsumori Chisato boots are swallowing all your dollars, it gets harder and harder to save up for overseas vacations. Instead, I find myself making do with holidays in my own city. What my friends and I like to call a ‘staycation’.

If it’s New York you’d like to staycation to this week, you best head down to Icarus, the latest space to open on Reservoir Street (the up and coming coolest street in Sydney’s coolest suburb). This ‘A-Class’ men’s store employs a rough, industrial feel with exposed bricks, pipes and finishings inside. This, teamed with the unmarked façade and all important secrecy of a shop only for the most clued in, plus authentic New York brands, all come together to create a Lower East Side kind of feel. Sydney Architect Lenny Wong’s idea. Good one Lenny!

Though the threads are boys only, I’m sure, like any boy from the L.E.S, they won’t say no to a girl or two!
