Poepke, we owe you an apology. We should have featured you years ago, but we were too busy learning the internets and listening to Cut Copy.
Before the Gingers & Smarts, the Brunos and the Nudies, Poepke existed humbly on William Street. Formerly at number 29, the store moved beyond The Corner Shop crossroads four years back, bringing with it a devoted Belgian stable (Ann Demeulemeester, christian wijants, Dries Van Noten, Bernhard Willhelm) peppered with local beauties (Rittenhouse and To Sir With Love).**The clothes racks are currently just for girls, but the rest of you aren’t without options. Poepke recently added 2 by Lyn and Tony, a brilliant accessory collection made of red corals, knitted leather and crochet that doesn’t discriminate. Similarly, bassike tees, Trust Fun scarves and MYKITA eyewear swing both ways.
Poepke, please accept our apology. We shall now willingly donate our credit cards, pay cheques and sacrificial lunch money to your good favour.
