Sometimes I say, “I’m glad I’m not a guy”. I generally say this when some dipstick gets wedged on Funniest Home Videos or whilst doing three, possibly four things at once. I also say it when looking at menswear in Sydney, because - excluding the wonderful work of a select few – men are largely marginalised to wife beaters and flannies.**This is why I was extra glad to come across guys like Josh at The Cloakroom. Josh and business partner Andrew decided to bring The Cloakroom down from Brisbane, and set up shop in the back streets of Surry Hills. With them comes in-house designed label Pistols at Dawn, which is casual yet suity without being stiff. There’s a Gatsbian ease to the linen blend blazers, Italian wool jumpers and crisp shirts with perfectionist finishing. The Satorialist would go bananas for this stuff.
Completing the fit out are purposeful suede lace ups, vintage Playboy and two very slim bikes. There’s not a dipstick in sight, just banter-free clothing.
