As a cafe this place was already great, and now that it’s a green grocer too, we’re so on their team that they’re sick of us visiting. The coffee is amazing, the food is so fresh you want to spank it, and they’re following that excellent new trend of only having attractive young men behind the counter.
Did I just sound like a 40-year-old, pervy divorcee? No. I just sounded like a hot French woman. And you know why that is relevant? Because this place is all about the Frenchness. Chris, who runs the joint (hi Chris, go team!) wants to one day run a cute epicière (that’s French for ‘place where you go and buy things’) in a picturesque town on the continent, but in the meantime he’s happily bringing fresh fruit and veggies, fancy bread, and a cosy, provincial shop/cafe to the welcoming arms of Darlinghurst.
The menu changes depending on what’s in in the green grocer out back, and you can even order veggie boxes online if you’re too lazy to visit. We recommend visiting though, for the ‘conversation’. N’est-ce pas?
