We all have a favourite place to can on, but generally Sydney follows some rigid drinking rules: we don’t like the front bar; we don’t like ground level; we’ll avoid ceilings where possible because we like the sun; if beers are nicely priced you’ve got us interested; and if no-one else isgoing there we love it. Where are your friends thinking of drinking this weekend? Probably ‘downstairs-out-the-back’ or ‘upstairs-on-the-balcony’ but unlikely ‘front-bar-near-the-smokes-machine’, unless you’re at the Townie.**Thisis exactly why the Aurora’s Roofbar is kicking it. It’s a checklist of goodness: upstairs? Yep. On the roof? Yep. With cheap beers? Yep. Away from the gross bits of Sydney? Yep. And not yet wrecked by a horrible crowd? Definitely yep. Ambience is leant by incredible views of the awesome adjacent buildings and its proximity to Slurry. Another reason why this summer, drinking on the roof is the new black.
