Byron Bay Writers Festival
published on 21st July, 2009

Very, very soon, scores of dedicated festival groupies will begin to make the pilgrimage to the white marquees at Belongil Fields.

No, we’re not talking about the leather-jacketed folk on their way to the Enchanting Tipi Forest, we refer to those shamelessly bookish types heading to the Byron Bay Writers Festival.

And by Jove do the literati know how to party.

There’s an all-star lineup of journalists, ex-politicians, and real, live writers. Plus, a fair and exhibition featuring zines made by over 30 international and Australian artists, including the efforts of Teeluxe and OWN books.**You might also want to explore one of the intimate workshops running in the lead up to the festival, including one by Dominic Knight on satire and how to offend people.

Send our apologies to Perry Farrell, but there’s a new bad-boy on the scene. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to Byron to blow our money on zines.
