Club Cannibal
published on 8th July, 2008

You might have heard of Nathan Gray; most probably not for his music. The man is an artist. He makes incredible prints, sculptures and woven paper works. He’s also a dab hand at improvised sound activities – this is where Jimmy Sing’s comes in. On Saturday, the smallest record store in Sydney is hosting a line up that smacks it over the big fellas.

**Along with Nathan’s vocal improv, you have Melbourne’s a.l.w.a.y.s. aka (Alex Vivian) who bends hypnotic A’cappella over trance-worthy soundscapes (trance as in the state, not the genre). Rounding out the spread is Bad Tables/Lamp Puffer, or a wobbly Matthew P. Hopkins, who makes his sound "on a four tape machine in a non linear kind of way". Club Cannibal certainly ain’t straight up, it’s mean, hungry and will chew up everything east of Cleveland.
