For those of you looking to wet your end, fishing is your ticket. Put yourself back at the top of the food chain whilst enjoying some friendly banter with good mates, strangers or yourself.
Don’t be a hack and rock up with a rod and no idea about rigs, bait and the simple mind of the scaly cretans that lie in the blue room beneath. Like an old pier-dangler once told me, if you can read you can’t necessarily fish, but it helps. My suggestions is that you buy yourself a book. The Fishing Guide to Sydney/Hawkesbury River should do the trick, which you can find at your local tackle shop. I also highly recommend the friendly fellas at Global Tackle, who will provide you with some invaluable local knowledge.**My recent experience at The Hermitage, a small reserve and wharf, saw us reel in a handsome slather of leather jackets and a suspiciously greasy sliver trevally. The two leather jackets made their way into our diets. To be kind, these fish where better than eating your smart casual leather bomber jacket from Cream on Crown, but only by skin of their snarling little chops.
