Leichhardt Organic Food and Farmers’ Market
published on 24th July, 2007

As we write this, a chicken is laying an egg. Pop! As you read this, a chicken is laying an egg. Pop!**It’s happening all over the world; the process of things becoming food, before they are packaged, trucked, refrigerated and then opened in a rush by you and me. Pop! Luckily, the Orange Grove market allows us to connect with food in a way that supermarket can’t, or won’t. Here you can buy straight from the people who passionately grow and make amazing produce. Organic yoghurt with bush honey, macadamias, and lemon myrtle will soon replace the chocolate Yogo gorilla in your fridge, and you’ll realise that not all tomatoes are genetically engineered replicas of Rosanne Barr’s head. Even if you’re feeling not so natural, and have a zombie -like hangover on Saturday morning, simply follow your nose (and the DAWN OF THE DEAD-like procession) to the dang best honey cured bacon and egg rolls anywhere. You’ll soon realise food markets aren’t just for hippies, they’re about making you feel alive again. Pop!
