"We are all interested in the future. For that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives…"
Though lovably misguided, Ed Wood’s opening lines to Plan 9 From Outer Space ring true. COFA’s Live Futures 2020 features talks and displays by Sydney artists, scientists, engineers, and tech heads who are interested in making a more creative future for spending the rest of our lives in.
FutureStory features one and three minute videos of experts and regular joes discussing their visions of the future. Twenty presenters keep it short and sweet at Future Kucha. Anna Zhu‘s I Will… Project (pictured) documents your ideas on how you can improve Sydney’s creative culture with some hands on support from Polaroid. See how Cameron Little’s Worm Trailer composts waste, and ask him about this and permaculture. Check out awesome freight bikes on display from The Watershed in Newtown; ever wanted to move furniture on a pushbike? In this future – you can!
And, if you sign-up for a free event pass now, you’ll get half price ice cream from the solar-powered van. Now THAT’S a future we are all interested in…
