Maggot Fest
published on 26th October, 2011

It’s true that maggots reproduce exponentially. Even our mate Tim Scott’s Maggot Fest has grown from a single squirming Melbourne punx fest into one that’s got grubs in Sydney and Brisbane.

Over 25 of Australia’s sickest bands will be infesting the three cities – feeding on the necrotic ear tissue of Sydney will be happy-go-lucky Royal Headache, who recently, and deservingly, sold out their album launch; moody synth-punk outfit Chrome Dome; Per Purpose, who’re arguably the best band in QLD. Plus a special headliner going in real deep – doing their first Aus show since 2007 AND launching a new 7″ Guilty Pleasure Blues is The Sailors! Well played TS.

Along with all of that, will be rotting noise from Meat Thump, Ally Oop and the Hoopsters, Bad Aches, Thee Mighty Childish, Tough Troubles, Chook Race, Terrible Truths, Repairs, and Bits of Shit – who, according to Tim, still sound like mid-era Black Flag.

Of course, you could disregard the tasteless larvae references and just take it as a direct obligation to getting maggot and listen to the maddest punk, garage, pop and noise bands in the world, all night. Up to you.
