Sydney Stencil Festival ’07
published on 9th October, 2007

If you’ve wandered through the labyrinth that is Melbourne’s city, you’ll appreciate how the “psssht” of spray-paint has created a street art phenomenon. I visited the southern city’s Stencil Festival a couple months ago and saw this urban form at its best. And now it’s heading north.

The exhibition will showcase the work of over 60 Australian and international artists. Among the line-up are Rica P and Celso, members of the Brazilian Sprays Poeticos Collective, who combine poetry with street art.

Keen to get paint on your pants? Then check out the stenciling master classes, workshops and live spraying demos. Or see what the local scene has to offer on the ‘Graffiti Tour’. Psssht… graff hunters get there early to pick up the good stuff.
