The Chimpanzee Exhibit
published on 3rd February, 2009

OK, so let’s just put something out there right away: creationists are idiots*. I’d say most of you don’t need much convincing of this, but if you do, a short visit to the Chimp enclosure at Taronga should help. I’m not a huge fan of zoos – I feel sorry for the animals and tend to ruin everyone’s fun by saying things like "Why isn’t it moving? The poor thing has probably lost its mind!" – but jebus those chimps are incredible. **About 94% of our DNA is identical and, sorry God botherers, it’s really, really obvious. It was very much like observing my embarrassing cousins from Bega+. Quite a few countries have put in place a Great Ape Research ban, but unfortunately Australia’s not one of them. Go check out these little guys and hopefully you’ll agree with me that we should!
