TwoThousand $10 Pub Meal Challenge Results
published on 29th May, 2007

Last week TwoThousand put out the call – to save the stomachs of those afflicted by barren fridges. The results are in. Thank you to everyone who sent in answers, we’ll never go hungry again.**Winner: Captain Cook Hotel
The Cap’s $8 steak with chips, mash or salad was given three hats by all who sampled its succulent chops. The fact that you can graffiti your table cloth while you gorge (textas provided) and ogle "amateur Paddington geriatric" art on the walls made this one a winner.**Bargain basement:
Strawberry Hills, 453 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills
$5 steak without a side serve of mad cow.**Secret steak:

Ask at the bistro for the $6 steak and be rewarded with a tender, juicy slice served with salad and crunchy-on-the-outside-and-still-fluffy-inside chips.**Good sport:
Randwick Rugby Club, 102 -104 Brook St, Coogee
Destroy a 350g steak, mash and salad with the boys for $10 every Tuesday. Comes with a side of beer. Orgh!**SHORTLIST:
