Collective nouns are fun: A ‘rainbow’ of hippies, a ‘compact’ of beauticians, a ‘matinee’ of nannas – the list goes on. But what works for ‘artists’? A smudge? A patcholi? Or the common referrer: a collective?**On top of being frequently dishevelled and outspoken, artists could be the definitive collective noun. They are a collective in themselves, and on the local scene, it rarely gets more definitive than the 12×12 crew. Confused much?
