With all the film festivals coming through Sydney at the moment, from last week’s feature Hola Mexico Film Festival, to this week’s Japanese Film Festival and the Canadian Film Festival next week, there is seemingly little need to travel.
The Japanese Film Festival celebrates the diversity of a country with arich cinematic tradition. Films include the pictured Always – Sunset on Third Street, The Samurai I once Loved based upon the story by Japan’s favourite Samurai novelist Shuhei Fujisawa, and Glass Rabbit based upon the two million-plus selling novel and the wasabi-sharp pop culture extravaganza Kamikaze Girls.
